PLUG IN @ THE LIBRARY! A TEEN SUMMER READING PROGRAM - (ages 12 - 18) Teens can "plug in" and read for funky prizes! PUPPET SHOWS - (all ages) Fun filled puppet shows and other programs await you every week at North Greenwood on Mondays (10:30 a.m.), East on Tuesdays (10 a.m.), Countryside on Thursdays (10 a.m.), and Main on Fridays (10:30 a.m.). RED CROSS SPONSORED BABY-SITTING CLASSES - (11 yr.-up) Red Cross will provide a one day baby-sitting class at North Greenwood library on June 3 and July 29; Countryside Library on May 28, June 11 and July 9; East Library on May 31, June 14 and July 12, and Main on June 21 and June 28. All classes are from 9-4 pm. Cost of the class is $40. Group rates and scholarships are available. Call the American Red Cross at 727-446-2359 (Clearwater) or 1-877-741-1444 ext. 850 (Central) to register. TEEN VOLUNTEERS - (must have completed 5th grade) Sign up to volunteer at Main, East, North Greenwood or Countryside and assist librarians with summer programs, help children with their reading, teach all ages to use POLARIS (the online public library catalog), make props for Storytime, and more! Positions are limited so register in advance. Orientation and training will be held throughout the week of May 31. Check with the library where you plan to work. |

FAMILY FUN STORYTIME - Every Wednesday at 10 a.m. Stories, songs, crafts for early elementary ages. Special guest readers! PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT - Monday - Friday, 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Practice reading with a Teen Volunteer. GUYS READ - The secret's out! Guys like fun and guys like reading so, why not have a bit of reading fun with other guys age 11-14 down at the library. GIRLS' AFTERNOON OUT - We're talking/laughing/thinking/reading/crafting every Wednesday from 1-3 p.m. Girls ages 8-12. Please bring a book to share. R.E.A.D. - (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) Program designed to give children the opportunity to read aloud to specially trained dogs. The mission of the R.E.A.D. program is to improve the literacy skills of children through the assistance of registered Pet Partner¨ therapy teams as literacy mentors. PUBLIX APRONS COOKING SCHOOL DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM - Thursday, June 30 - Main Library, 12 Noon - Chef Bill Mitchell will show teens recipes for "dipping into" fondue. Thursday, July 14 - Main Library, 12 Noon - Chef Bill Mitchell will cast his enchanting recipes and entice kids to the table. Even a "Half-Blood Prince" will be seeking out these "magical" mixtures! Space is limited. Samples will be given to the first 20 participants. SCRAPBOOKING! - (Teens) Scrapbooking is a source of fun, inspiration, and memories all in one. Join in on this fun in July at the Main Library. Call 562-4970 ext. 5236 for more information. YARNS - Tuesdays 2-4 p.m. Join others and learn how to knit and crochet. Your handmade squares will be made into an afghan. These will go to Warm-Up America, a national organization that distributes afghans to the homeless, battered women's shelters, and other people in need. An added treat will be live book readings. ADULT EVENTSFILMS ON THE BLUFF -3rd Tuesday of each month at 2 p.m.

JUNETEENTH - (all ages) Celebrate Juneteenth, June 14, 2 p.m. "Juneteenth" is the oldest known event celebrating the end of slavery. Dr. Lorraine Mayfield-Brown will present a program about the history of Juneteenth followed by crafts and a movie.
CREATE A BOOK - June 16, 2 p.m. Make a book and see books created by students of Sandy Lane Elementary School. READ AND RECREATE LIBRARY BOOK CLUB FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS - A joint program between the Library and the Parks & Recreation Department.
