Finding Information with the BUSINESS AND COMPANY RESOURCE CENTERThe Clearwater Public Library and the Pinellas Public Library Cooperative offer the Business and Company Resource Center to registered library patrons as a way to search for information on companies and industries. ACCESSING THE BUSINESS AND COMPANY RESOURCE CENTERClick here to access the Business and Company Resource Center At the next screen, enter your 14-digit library card number (if outside the library) and click PROCEED. The main page of the Business and Company Resource Center will appear. You can search by company, industry, within a database of articles relating to business and industry, or conduct an advanced search. COMPANY SEARCHThe most basic search is to search by company name.
Simply type in the name of the company you are looking for and hit the Search button or press Enter. From the list of results, select the company for which you want information and click on it. You will then see tabs that you can click on to see various information about the company you have selected.
To the left, you will see a listing of types of articles about the company you can browse.
INDUSTRY DESCRIPTION SEARCHYou can also do a search by industry by clicking on the pick-list button and selecting Industry Description Search.
Input your search term(s) and you will get a page that lists SIC (Standard Industry Classification) Codes matching your term.
Clicking on one of the categories will provide you with a list of articles regarding that industry. Notice that you can Mark articles for retrieval at a later time.
ADVANCED SEARCHESIn addition to the searches outlined above, you can conduct searches by clicking on one of the tabs below.
