Homeowners' Resources

A building permit is NOT required for:

Repairs valued at less than $500.00 that are non-consequential to the building
Siding, soffit and fascia repair
Kitchen cabinets

All other work requires a building permit. All work is to be done by a licensed contractor unless done by the homeowner and he agrees to live in the house for at least 1 year after construction.

To apply for a permit, you will need:

Survey of property
Address and parcel number
Owner's name and address
Value of the project
Contractor's license number
