The Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce and the City of Clearwater recognize businesses that make a commitment to improving the quality of life for all residents in Clearwater. The Business Recognition Program exists to honor the uniqueness of Clearwater's many businesses and those that maintain or have made significant improvements to their property, which enhances the community.

Applications also may be delivered to the Municipal Services Building, Neighborhood Services Division, 3rd floor. Entries must be received by noon of the following dates:

Celebrate Clearwater Neighborhoods Week

Each spring, the City of Clearwater celebrates neighborhoods with a week of festivites for the residents who make our community strong. Neighborhoods Week events give residents a chance to socialize, meet and interact with city officials and staff. Highlights include seminars on relevant topics and a movie in the park. The week culminates with Neighborhoods Day, a Saturday for neighborhoods to hold block parties. Join the more than 20 neighborhoods throughout the city who host them. City representatives visit each and chat with residents about their communities.

Celebrate Clearwater Neighborhoods Day

In August 1998, the City Commission endorsed the Clearwater block party program and recommended that citywide block parties occur in Clearwater neighborhoods on a designated day during the spring of each year.

The intent of the program is for neighborhoods throughout the City to hold a neighborhood celebration on one date between the hours of 10 am – 10 pm. During this time, the Mayor, City Councilmembers, City Management and City staff visit the neighborhood parties and speak with residents in a positive and comfortable environment - in their own neighborhood.

Neighborhood Services assembles block party kits for each neighborhood that include specialized flyers to invite neighbors, party decorations, planning materials, and City of Clearwater promotional materials.

Each year, approximately 80 City representatives visit 20-30 participating neighborhood block parties. Since the event's inception ten years ago, City representatives have met with over 5,000 Clearwater residents.

Clearwater Awards for Neighborhoods

The City of Clearwater wants its residents to be involved - involved in their neighborhoods, involved in city events, involved in government processes, and involved in growing families and communities in unique and positive ways! The Clearwater Awards for Neighborhoods program is designed to get Clearwater neighbors excited about thinking of creative ways to achieve all of these objectives.

Community Information Days

Community Information Days are an excellent opportunity for City Departments and local service providers to distribute information about programs and services that benefit Clearwater residents.

As part of the Neighborhood and Home Recognition Program, the “Home of the Year” and “Neighborhood of the Year” awards as well as Neighborhood and Homes of the Quarter awards, celebrate the uniqueness of Clearwater’s many neighborhoods and its residents. These awards recognize the hard work, pride in ownership, and the commitment to improving the quality of life in Clearwater.
