Demographics

Clearwater is the county seat of Pinellas County and is located on the highest coastal bluff in Florida. Clearwater is located in the Tampa Bay Metropolitan area. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the population of Clearwater is over 110,169 residents (demographic profile). In addition the City has about 20,000 winter residents each year.

Tourism

The downtown area is the gateway to the beautiful Clearwater beaches which hosts over 1.5 million visitors each year. New resort hotels will be adding over 1,000 new hotel units.

Beach Walk Information

New Construction

Downtown Clearwater will be the new home of over 1,000 new residential units. Project examples include Water's Edge, Station Square, Acqua and over 100,000 sf of new retail.

Incentives

The Community Redevelopment Agency for downtown has programs and incentives to attract major prospects. The Economic Development and Housing Department assists prospective companies with potential incentives through the Downtown Development Board, Brownfields, Enterprise Zone, and HUBZone, and Main Street programs.

Assistance

The Economic Development and Housing Department assists developers locate prospective properties as well as interrelate with all other city departments and a wide spectrum of public and private organizations including the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Tampa Bay Partnership.
