Football and Cheerleading

Football is one of the most popular sports in the United States and around the world. Men and women of all ages and abilities can play.

Football teaches the player to look ahead (downfield), see challenges, and evaluate the situation. The City of Clearwater and its co-sponsor group offers both flag and contact football at various levels. Find the team that fits you and become a football star yourself.



Football Youth

Clearwater Junior Tornadoes

Programs in football, flag football and cheerleading for children ages 5 through 15 are offered. Home games are played Saturdays at Clearwater High School, 540 S. Hercules Avenue

Countryside Jr. Cougar Football and Cheerleading Program

The Countryside Jr. Cougars Football Program offers competitive contact football, cheerleading and flag football. Children ages 4 through 6 are eligible for flag football, 7 through 14 are eligible for contact football, and 4 through 14 are eligible for cheerleading.

The program pledges to teach children the fundamentals of cheerleading and football, good sportsmanship and helps build self-confidence. Call for registration information. The Jr. Cougars practice and play at the Countryside Sports Complex, 3060 McMullen Booth Road.

Greenwood Panthers Football and Cheerleading Program

  • Phillip Jones Field, 1190 Russell St.
  • Season runs August through November

The Greenwood Panthers offer competitive football, cheerleading and flag football programs for children ages 6 through 15. Registration and practices begin the last week of July. Call for more information. The Panthers practice and play at Phillip Jones Field, 1190 Russell Street.

Flag Football Adult

7 Man Flag Football League

  • Registration through January 31
  • Starts February 3 at 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., or 8:30 p.m.
  • $225.00 with recreation card/$275.00 without

TBCS is an excellent way to be active and social at the same time. Young adults can do everything from sport leagues to parties and happy hours to special sporting events. TBCS is the largest provider of social sport leagues in the area, and includes a wide variety of sports for everyone to enjoy. The great atmosphere, combined with great people, makes for a great experience.

Tournaments

Clearwater proudly hosts tournaments throughout the year. Spectators are always welcome. Occasionally an entrance fee may be charged. For more information call 669-1361, ext. 235.
