Golf

Florida is one of the largest markets for golf in the continental United States with more than 1,000 courses offered throughout the state. Golf enthusiasts have the opportunity to play year round on some of the top rated courses in the country and even the world. The City of Clearwater offers three beautiful courses for you to choose from.

City Courses

Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club

  • 3030 McMullen Booth Road
  • 726-4673

Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club, located just north of SR 580, is a public golf course open daily except Christmas Day. Prices range between $16 and $39 dollars for a round of golf. Situated on 126 acres of lakes, open land and wooded property, the par 69 course presents a challenge to golfers of all playing abilities with tiered green and many bunkered approaches. The course, home of the Chi Chi Rodriguez Youth Foundation, invites you to test your ability on its expertly maintained course.

Clearwater Country Club

  • 525 N. Betty Lane
  • 446-2240

Clearwater CC is a challenging par 72 golf course designed by Herbert Strong and constructed in 1920. A recent renovation brought brand new Tiftdwarf Bermuda greens, 419 Bermuda teeing areas and Ormond Bermuda everywhere else. Stevenson Creek runs through the golf course and comes in to play on six holes. Four sets of tees are available, providing a test for golfers of any skill level. Numerous large, moss covered oak trees also add to the challenge and beauty of the golf course.

Tee times are available to the public and can be made up to three days in advance of play. Membership fees range between $1450 and $2400 a year. A round of golf ranges in price from $15 to $32. Clearwater residents receive a 10% discount.

This semi-private club is open daily from 7 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. The club has 120 family, 380 individual, 60 junior and 150 social members. More than 67,000 rounds of golf are played each year.

The beautifully appointed 19,200 square foot clubhouse offers a 300 seat formal dining room and an informal grillroom with 76 seats. Food and beverages are served daily. Call 446-9501 for banquet or reception information.
