The city's Planning Department is looking into the proposed plan for increasing beach hotel density to make it easier for developers to build mid-priced hotels at the beach. This plan would establish a hotel density reserve of 1,385 hotel rooms and would apply only to areas covered by Beach by Design. The plan was presented to the City Council last month and a public hearing was held March 20 to discuss it with the City Council.
