Divisions

Administration

The administration division provides administrative, financial, and operational support for the Public Services Department. This includes capital and operating budget preparation, personnel management, payroll, assets management, and City Management liaison.

Stormwater Maintenance

This division is responsible for the maintenance and repair of the City's 120 miles of storm sewer drainage pipes and ditches, storm manholes, catch basins, spillways, and other drainage structures to help eliminate flooding of streets and homes. This division also provides:

  • An annual cleaning cycle for the City's drainage ditch system
  • Major sweeping of the City's main roadway arteries, Clearwater Beach, downtown streets and city parking lots
  • Bi-annual residential sreet sweeping
  • Maintenance and repair of City-owned lakes and retention ponds

Right-of-way Maintenance

A) Streets & Sidewalks

This division provides for the maintenance and repair of the City's 302 miles of paved streets. They repair, replace, and/or construct sidewalk, curb, and gutter. Their mission is to ensure safe and well maintained rights-of-ways for the residents and visitors of Clearwater.

B) Urban Forestry

This division provides maintenance of hardwood trees that can create hazards to the public by pruning tree limbs that block street signs, traffic signals, sidewalks, and roadways. It also removes damaged or diseased trees on City rights-of-way and City property. Palm pruning is performed on an established schedule, primarily at City facilities.
