Mission StatementTo protect the public health and environment cost effectively. Department OverviewWater pollution control consists of three major departments; The Water Pollution Control Plant Operations, the Public Utilities Lab, and Industrial Pretreatment and Grease Management programs. The WPC Plant Operations program consists of three advanced wastewater treatment facilities. The Public Utilities Laboratory provides sampling, analysis and support services to Water, Water Pollution Control and Wastewater Collections. The Industrial Pretreatment Program (IPP) group is responsible for sampling, monitoring, and regulating City industrial users and enforcing the City's Industrial Pretreatment Ordinance. The IPP group has also been tasked with implementation and operation of a grease management program to curtail the introduction of grease waste into the sanitary sewer and treatment facilities. |
