TAMPA - University of South Florida Softball is proud to announce The USF Series, presented by the City of Clearwater and St. Petersburg/Clearwater Sports Commission, that includes four separate events that will bring the largest NCAA Division I softball tournaments to the Tampa Bay/Clearwater area.

Lakeview Road is closed to traffic from Tioga Avenue to South Washington Avenue through Feb. 17. South Street can be used as a detour route.

2/8/2010 - Clearwater Wheelchair Open Tennis Tournament
Clearwater Wheelchair tennis is on a roll at the Henry L. McMullen tennis complex. On February 20, 2010 the City will host there first USTA Sanctioned Wheelchair Tennis Tournament at the complex.

As the weather warms up, the Public Services department encourages Clearwater businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and individuals to get involved in the Adopt-a-Street program. This initiative encourages groups, individuals, and families to adopt an area of roadway that is about one mile in length for litter control every other month.

The Clearwater Half-a-thon Run will be held on Jan 23, 2010, from 6 to 11 a.m. The run will start and end at Coachman Park and will proceed through the Clearwater Beach area to Sand Key area and back.

1/5/2010 - Volunteers Needed to Help Host USF Series Softball Tournaments
CLEARWATER, Fla. - In February and March, the City of Clearwater will welcome college athletes, coaches, and spectators to Eddie C. Moore Complex for the 2010 USF Series hosted by USF Softball. Around 500 volunteers will be needed to help host approximately 75 colleges from around the nation to play in more than 200 games during three different tournaments on four different weekends.
