March Events Scheduled at Moccasin Lake Nature Park

CLEARWATER, Fla. – The following March events are scheduled at Moccasin Lake Nature Park, 2750 Park Trail Lane. Call (727) 793-2976 for more information.

Bird Walk: Saturday, March 2, 8 a.m. Guided hike while seeking birds by sight and sound. Bring binoculars and field guides if you have them. Free with paid admission to park of $3.

Clearwater Audubon Society Meeting: Monday, March 4, 7 to 9:30 p.m. Local chapter conducts field trips, supports environmental education and sponsors educators. Suggested donation of $1 per person, per meeting is appreciated.

Green Mixer: March 7 and 19. Send an email to 4lawrason@aol.com for more information. $5 per person.

Sundamizu Bonsai Kai: Saturday, March 9, 10 a.m. to noon. Learn the art and techniques of bonsai. Group meets every second Saturday of the month.

Drum Circles: Saturday, March 9, 7 to 9 p.m. Enjoy the music of local artists and bands under the stars. During intermission, enjoy beverages and toast marshmallows around the campfire. Those with some cookout skills can make s’mores. Fixings provided. In case of inclement weather, the concert is moved indoors. Free with evening admission of $3.

Outdoor Photography for the Fun of it: Saturday, March 16, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For the person who wants to have fun taking pictures outdoors and learn how to photograph wildlife. Cameras can be cell phone, point and shoot, or SLR. Learn the basics of taking a good picture. $6 with a play pass; $8 with a recreation card; $10 with no card.

Suncoast Herpetological Society: Wednesday, March 20, 7 to 9:30 p.m. For people interested in reptiles and amphibians, with an emphasis on responsible husbandry and captive breeding. Visit kingsnake.com/suncoastherpsociety for more information. $1 suggested donation per person.

Suncoast Sierra Club: Thursday, March 21, 7 to 9:30 p.m. Members participate in both the enjoyment and preservation of the natural environment. $1 suggested donation per person.
