Teen Clearwater Library Events Week of July 20

CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Clearwater Public Library System is offering a wide variety of events for teens and tweens during the week of July 20. All events are free. Call (727) 562-4970 or visit myclearwater.com/cpl for more information.

Sunday, July 20

Craft a Reaction: at the Main Library, 100 N. Osceola Ave., from 3 to 4 p.m. The library hosts a weekly summer program for teens in grades six to 12 to learn about various areas of scientific study. Cool crafts and activities.

Tuesday, July 22

Code Academy Intro: at the Main Library, 100 N. Osceola Ave., 3 to 5 p.m. The library will supply the space and the computers while you learn about computer coding and all the different ways the Code Academy can help you make computers do cool stuff. Meet in the second floor Children’s Program Room. For grades six to 12.

Wednesday, July 23

Technically Technology: at the Main Library, 100 N. Osceola Ave., 2 to 4 p.m. Activities, games and crafts will keep you learning and help you keep up with galloping technology. For grades six to 12.

Insta-who? What Your Kids are Up To: at the Countryside Library, 2741 S.R. 580, 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Teens get together with parents to reveal the social media sites they use most often. Parents will come away conversant in their teens’ Internet activities and maybe add some new communications skills. For grades six to 12 and their parents.

Saturday, July 26

Fizz, Boom, Game!: at the Main Library, 100 N. Osceola Ave., 2 to 4:30 p.m. The teen room is open to play video games that the majority will choose. All skill levels welcome. For grades six to 12.

Manga Book Club: at the Main Library, 100 N. Osceola Ave., from 2 to 4 p.m. Read and discuss different manga each month — maybe reread an old favorite or find out about something completely new. Games, crafts and related activities.

YouTube Top 10 Countdown: at the East Library, 2251 Drew St. 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Watch the top 10 most popular You Tube video clips (comedies and music) as voted by Clearwater East patrons.
