Railroad Crossing Repairs to Temporarily Close Roadways

Pinellas County Department of Environment and Infrastructure and CSXT Railroad are beginning a project to improve railroad crossings on Belleair Road and Wyatt Street between Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and Clearwater-Largo Road. The project will take place in two phases with anticipated construction detours taking place:

-- Belleair Road from South Myrtle Avenue to Scranton Avenue to begin Friday, Feb. 15, through Thursday, Feb. 21.

-- Wyatt Street from Clearwater Largo Road to South Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue to begin Friday, March 1, through Thursday, March 7.

The project will replace the existing crossings with a reinforced structure, and new rails to provide an improved lifespan and to construct ADA compliant sidewalks. Roadway resurfacing will finish the job at both locations.
