Clearwater, Fla. (Jan. 23, 2013) - The City of Clearwater’s Fun ‘N Sun Festival and Sunsets at Pier 60 Daily Festival have joined together to showcase its award-winning beaches during ten sugar sand days and sunset nights with the debut of Frenchy’s Sugar Sand Festival from April 19-28, 2013.

Located just south of Pier 60 on Clearwater Beach, 1,000 tons of its world famous sugar sands will come to life in the Sugar Sand Walk Exhibition, an artistic walk-through display in a 14,000-square-foot tent accessible for a small admission fee. Additional no-cost highlights of the event include Frenchy’s Master Sand Sculpting Competition, sand sculpting clinics, speed sand demonstrations and a children’s play area called the Sandbox.

Additional sponsorship opportunities are available for highlighted events listed above.

About Frenchy’s Restaurants

A local favorite since 1981, Frenchy’s is famous for its fresh-from-the-gulf seafood and casual beach atmosphere. With four unique locations on Clearwater Beach, Frenchy’s serves up fresh grouper, snapper and other fish, as well as stone crab all caught from its own fleet of boats. Frenchy’s offers something for everyone: quaint, casual dining at Frenchy’s Original Café; family and boater friendly atmosphere at Frenchy’s Saltwater Café; beachfront sunset views and daily live music at Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill; and open air bistro style dining on scenic Beach Walk at Frenchy’s South Beach Café.

About The Fun ‘N Sun Festival

The Fun ‘N Sun Festival is celebrating its 60 year anniversary. The festival was originally created to enhance the visitor experience in providing those an option to extend their vacation stays long after the traditional season’s end. This year the festival taps into its original roots in its debut of Frenchy’s Sugar Sand Festival, giving visitors and residents another reason to enjoy the City of Clearwater and its beaches.

About The Sunsets at Pier 60 Daily Festival

Since 1995, two hours before the sun sinks into the Gulf of Mexico, people flock to Pier 60 to salute the setting of the Florida sun. Local artisans and crafters offer handmade treasures and street performers delight and amaze with spectacular feats of skill. In addition to the nightly sunset celebration, the festival plays host to the Sunset Cinema. Free movies are offered Friday and Saturday evenings, weather permitting. The Sunsets at Pier 60 Daily Festival operates year round.
