CLEARWATER, Fla. – The nature experience continues for kids at the City of Clearwater’s Moccasin Lake Nature Park and there are still opportunities for more campers to join the fun.
Sensing Nature is a local environmental organization offering camps at the 51-acre preserve through August. Remaining camps this summer include: Swamps, Marshes and Mucks Wetland Adventure, which is an exploration of Florida wetlands. The week-long camp begins July 21. Florida’s Flying Fauna focuses on flying creatures with a hands-on habitat build. The camp is held the week of July 28. Then in August, Ancient Florida, takes campers back to prehistoric Florida when mastodons and giant armadillo roamed, held the week of Aug. 4th. During the Junior Naturalist Camp, participants will learn to track and identify flora and fauna as well as learn navigation skills and will keep a journal of their findings. These camps are for children ages 7 to 12. Fees start at $112.50.
Moccasin Lake Nature Park is located at 2750 Park Trail Lane, Clearwater. For camp information, call (727) 397-2306 or (727) 742-0600 or visit myclearwater.com/camps.
