Summer Library Programs for Youth and Teens, Week of July 7

CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Clearwater Public Library System will offer a wealth of programs for children and teens July 7 to July 13. Complete program listings are available through the library hotline at (727) 562-4970 or online at myclearwater.com/cpl. Highlights include:

MAIN LIBRARY:

Ronald McDonald, Monday, July 8, 2 to 3 p.m. Enjoy magic and bring your camera. Groups of 10 or more must register in advance.

Hunting for Cache, Tuesday, July 9, 3 to 5 p.m. Locate a few local caches and create new ones. Please pre-register.

The Main Thing, Thursday, July 11, 2 to 3 p.m. This week’s event is an etiquette tea. Please call the hotline for details.

Underground Art, Saturday, July 13, 2 to 4:30 p.m. Learn to make Steampunk fashion, zombie dolls, and more.

EAST LIBRARY:

Marcela’s Masters: Storytime Extravaganza, Tuesday, July 9, 11 a.m. Stories of famous artists. Arts and crafts.

Reading Buddies, Friday, July 12, 2 p.m. Fifth graders and younger are paired with a teen volunteer for reading.

Zumba! Saturday, July 13, 2 to 3 p.m. Instructor Claudia Garzon leads the whole family in an exhilarating workout.

COUNTRYSIDE LIBRARY:

The Not Really Improv Group, Monday, July 8, 2:30 p.m. Improvisational acting for teens.

Mad Science-Fire and Ice Show, Tuesday, July 9, 2 to 3 p.m. See the amazing properties of very hot and very cold substances. Experience a fizzing burp potion, a Mad Science bubble bath and shower and dry ice for movie effects.

Kid’s Chess Club, Wednesday, July 10, 3:30 p.m. All skill levels are welcome. Bring a chessboard.

Mao, Thursday, July 11, 2 to 3 p.m. Learn the game where it is against the rules to explain the rules. For teens/tweens.

Second Saturday ‘Dig Into Stories,’ Saturday, Jul 13, 2 to 3 p.m. A special family program with family stories.

NORTH GREENWOOD LIBRARY:

Game On Mondays, July 8, 2 to 3:30 p.m. Video gaming, music, board games, card games and friends.

Spark Your Pinterest, Tuesday, July 9, 2 to 3 p.m., Kids - make something awesome from the social media site known for cool ideas.
