CLEARWATER, Fla. – Macy’s is partnering with the National Recreation and Parks Association to raise funds for local parks around the country. The “Heart Your Park” program selects a community park by each participating local Macy’s store. Macy’s will match dollar-for-dollar donations made by Macy’s customers for up to $250,000 per park. Macy’s customers may donate $1 or more at the store registers from March 7 to March 31 to benefit the selected park.
In Clearwater, staff from Macy’s Westfield Countryside Mall and Macy’s Furniture Gallery selected Glen Oaks Park as the beneficiary for the campaign. Donations may be used for park improvements, trail maintenance, playgrounds, ball fields or other park needs. Glen Oaks Park is located at 1345 Court Street, and offers a playground, ball fields, walking paths, restrooms, a bike rack, and grills. The 31.54 acre city-owned site contains five ponds that provide floodwater storage, drainage and natural pollutant filtration for the surrounding floodplain and Stevenson’s Creek Watershed, while protecting surrounding properties from flooding.
“Heart Your Park” is part of Macy’s “Secret Garden” spring campaign with garden-inspired merchandise, special promotions and events.
