FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Nov. 21, 2012 Contact: Heather Parsons (727) 562-4708 Stormwater Improvements Are Coming to Mandalay Avenue CLEARWATER, Fla. - In order to decrease flooding and to provide water quality treatment, the City of Clearwater's Engineering Department is bringing the Mandalay Stormwater Outfall project to parts of north Clearwater Beach. The existing stormwater system will be upgraded, and additional infrastructure will be added along East Shore Drive. Two stormwater treatment units also will be installed. The project will take place along Mandalay Avenue, Poinsettia Avenue, East Shore Drive, and Papaya Street. Residents are invited to attend a public meeting hosted by the city to provide input on the project and learn about its benefits and impacts. Meeting specifics are as follows: Public Meeting on the Mandalay Stormwater Outfall Project Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 4 to 6:30 p.m. Clearwater Beach Recreation Complex 69 Bay Esplanade, Clearwater Construction is expected to last for nine months.
