Cleveland Street Blues Walk Ushers in Sea-Blues Fest

CLEARWATER, Fla. – The City of Clearwater announces its annual Blues Walk, a street festival in the Cleveland Street District in downtown Clearwater in anticipation of the Feb. 16 and 17 Sea-Blues Festival at Coachman Park.

Blues Walk will be Friday, Feb. 15, from 6:30 to 11 p.m. along Cleveland Street from Osceola to East avenues and will include live blues music and themed drink, dinner, and other specials at Cleveland Street restaurants and stores.

Event attendees are encouraged to visit downtown businesses and complete an entry at each one for a drawing to win two VIP tickets to the Sea Blues Festival. The more businesses visited and entries completed, the greater the chances of winning.

A highlight of the event will be the debut of six dolphin sculptures purchased by the Downtown Development Board and decorated by artists. The goal is to attract people to the Cleveland Street District while including the new sculptures on a map listing the locations of similarly decorated dolphin sculptures throughout the city. Among the artists is Cathie Carol Zurich-Wus whose dolphin artwork is a tribute to Maurice Sendak’s book, Where the Wild Things Are. Other artists include Terry Gray, Dawn Klyczek, Matt Sunderman and Haley Kukoleck. The sixth dolphin will be a participatory art project involving children who visit Winter’s Dolphin Tale Adventure on Osceola Avenue downtown.
