New Title Sponsor, Logo and Dates announced for 2014

10-day Festival Celebrates Clearwater’s Sugar Sand Beaches

(Sept. 23, 2013—Clearwater, Fla.) Sunsets at Pier 60 Daily Festival and the City of Clearwater are unveiling a new title sponsor which highlights and showcases the destination. The logo has been updated for the 2014 ten-day sand sculpting festival featuring Clearwater’s sugar sand. This year’s event will be called the Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival and will be April 4-13, 2014and will be a featured part of the city’s annual Fun N Sun Festival.

Located just south of Pier 60 on Clearwater Beach, 1,000 tons of Clearwater Beach’s world famous sugar sands will be creatively carved into the Sugar Sand Walk Exhibit, an artistic walk-through display in a 14,000-square-foot tent. The ten-day festival will also include a variety of free activities on Clearwater Beach including a professional sand sculpting competition, sand sculpting clinics, speed sand demonstrations, a children’s play area, extended Sunsets at Pier 60 hours, and entertainment.

Cost of admission will be $8 for adults, $4 for students 6 to 17 years old, and $5 for seniors (55 & up), military, police and firefighters. Children 5 & under are free. This year’s ticket cost will include entrance into the Sugar Sand Walk Exhibit and a commemorative 8X10 complimentary souvenir photo for each guest.

The 10-day festival will celebrate all that is spectacular about Clearwater Beach and why the readers of USA Today named Clearwater the Best Beach Town in Florida. The festival will also welcome back Team Sandtastic the master sand sculptures who created the sand art exhibit. The event organizers expect more sculptors to be participating and competing as the event grows. The inaugural event welcomed more than 25,000 attendees and hotels and restaurants reported a boost in sales over the 10-day period.
