Aging Well Center November Programming Offerings

CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Clearwater Aging Well Center, 1501 N. Belcher Road in the Long Center, will offer a number of special programs for older adults in November. Some of the highlights include:

SHINE MEDICARE SEMINAR: Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Unbiased 2013 Medicare information with specific information on Medicare Part D. Open enrollment period ends Dec.7. Pre-registration is suggested. Call (727) 724-3070. Free.

WELLNESS WEDNESDAY: Nov. 14, noon to 1 p.m. Dr. Valeria Purrucci MD, Internal Medicine presents diabetes avoidance techniques through diet and lifestyle changes. Pre-registration is suggested. Call (727) 253-4076. Free.

PHARMACIST MEDICATION REVIEW: Friday, Nov. 16, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Chris Steiner, Pharm.D., will review lists of your medications to determine any potential prescription problems or drug interactions. Call (727) 724-3070 to schedule your private appointment. Free.

LIVING NATURALLY SERIES: Alternative Medicine: Acupuncture and Inflammatory Diseases – Friday, Nov. 16, 1 to 2 p.m. Dr. Paul and Cara Reynolds conduct this seminar, in partnership with Nature’s Food Patch. Pre-registration is suggested. (727) 724-3070. Free.

MEDICAL MATTERS: Living with Low Vision – Monday, Nov. 26, 2 to 3 p.m. Joan Lehmann-Torres, OTR/L, CHT. Occupational Therapist Registered/ Licensed, Low Vision Specialist, discusses techniques and devices that can help make daily life with low vision a little easier. Pre-registration is suggested. NUTRITION LECTURE: Nov. 28, 11 a.m. Dr. Sheila Dean discusses how to eat, drink and be healthy while watching your weight during the holidays. Free.
