Clearwater Library Celebrates Earth Day with Family Fun Event

CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Clearwater Main Library, 100 N. Osceola Ave., is planning an April 20, 1 p.m. Earth Day celebration titled “Down to Earth Family Fun Day.”

The free open house will feature interactive stations, making crafts from recycled materials, games, presentations, and giveaways. There will be chance drawings for a rain barrel and 15, 3-gallon oak trees. Children’s activities will include building a recycled robot and Five Things You Can Do with a String.

Partnership agencies including the Pinellas County Extension Service, Clearwater Marine Aquarium, the St. Petersburg Urban Homesteaders, the International Society of Arboriculture and the YMCA will give talks on how to plant trees, keep backyard chickens, protect marine mammals and build compost.
