Clearwater Lifeguard Becomes Eagle Scout

CLEARWATER, Fla. Caleb Hudak, a seasonal lifeguard on Clearwater Beach, has achieved the highest advancement rank in Boy Scouting. Hudak, age 17, is now an Eagle Scout.

To earn the rank, a Boy Scout must progress through the ranks in the following order: Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, and Eagle. He must earn 21 merit badges including First Aid, Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World, Communications, Environmental Science or Sustainability, Personal Fitness, Emergency Preparedness or Lifesaving and more. He must serve six months in a troop leadership position.

Hudak took part in a Scoutmaster conference and successfully completed an Eagle Scout board of review.
