FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Nov. 8, 2012 Contact: Sandy Clayton (727) 793-2339, ext. 248 Successful Sweet Swap Benefits Troops Overseas CLEARWATER, Fla. – Trick-or-treaters brought their Halloween candy to the Long Center, 1501. N. Belcher Rd., soon after the holiday was over. More than 300 pounds of candy were collected and will be sent to the troops overseas through Operation Gratitude. Many of the children also wrote thank you letters to U.S. servicemen and women. Those who donated their candy won prizes such as packages for football, skateboarding, the Tampa Bay Lightning, soccer, the Tampa Bay Rays, basketball, baseball, McMullen Tennis, and Clearwater Aquatic Team swimming. Two bicycles were also given away. The Sweet Swap was held in cooperation with Prior Cosmetic & Family Dentistry in Clearwater who is arranging for delivery of the collected candy. Special thanks to the 688 Skate Shop, Clearwater Aquatic Team, Healthy Choices for a Healthy Clearwater, McMullen Tennis Complex, Tampa Bay Lightning, Tampa Bay Rays, and Walmart.
