Aging Well Center April Provides Diversions

CLEARWATER, Fla. – Clearwater’s Aging Well Center, 1501 N. Belcher Rd., has a wide variety of activities to challenge the mind and body during the month of April. • HANDS-ON WATERCOLOR DEMONSTRATION: Tuesday, April 2, 1 to 3 p.m. Experience a watercolor demonstration. Space is limited. Pre-registration required. Free.

• CAREGIVING SERIES - Financial and Legal Aspects – Tuesday, April 2, 11 a.m. to noon. Learn the terminology and the financial and legal responsibilities associated with care giving.

• LAUGHTER YOGA: Wednesday, April 3, 3 to 4 p.m. Experience the physical benefits of laughter as a fun, easy way to de-stress and energize your life. Pre-registration requested. Fees apply.

• HISTORY SERIES: Thursday, April 4, 1 to 2 p.m. Don Forehand, author of From Pines and Palmettos, describes the first settlers and early history of Pinellas County. Pre-registration suggested. Free.

• BOOK CLUB: Monday, April 8, 3 to 4 p.m. Tracey Reed with the Clearwater Library leads a monthly book discussion at the Aging Well Center. This month: The Walk, by Richard Paul Evans. Pre-registration requested. Free.

• COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINE SERIES: Pet Therapy – Wednesday, April 10, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Pet therapy promotes physical touch, and may reduce loneliness and blood pressure. Pre-registration requested. Free.

• CAREGIVING SERIES: Tips and Techniques for Caregivers – April 16: Learn practical ideas to ease the physical strains of caregiving, to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, and to maintain quality care.
