Look Ahead for Summer Youth Library Programs, Independence Day Week

CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Clearwater Public Library System will offer a wealth of programs for children and teens the week of June 30 to July 6. Information for all programs is available through the city’s Library hotline at 562-4970 or online at www.myclearwater.com/cpl. All libraries will be closed Thursday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.

MAIN LIBRARY:

9th Period Shows: Tomb Reader, Monday, July 1, 11:30 a.m. Archaeology and comedy combine in this interactive show. Groups of 10 or more must register in advance.

Super Sum Buddies, Tuesday, July 2, 11 a.m. Kids can keep up their math skills with number games.

Red, White and Blue Crafts, Tuesday, July 2, 4:30 p.m. Independence Day crafts followed by storytime at 5:30 p.m.

Showtime with the Dascaloja Puppets, Wednesday, July 3, 10:30 a.m. Teen puppeteers present stories and folktales, songs, live dances, and skits with audience participation. For ages five and up.

Viva 500 – Teen Style, Wednesday, July 3, 4:30 p.m. Discover the county’s paranormal history, enjoy Florida crafts and treats.

EAST LIBRARY:

Marcela’s Masters: Storytime Extravaganza, Tuesday, July 2, 11 a.m. Stories of famous artists. Arts and crafts.

Book and Origami Club, Wednesday, July 3, 2 p.m. The ancient art of paper folding and reading good books.

Reading Buddies, Friday, July 5, 2 p.m. Fifth graders and younger are paired with a teen volunteer for reading.

Magic with Cesar Domico, Saturday, July 6, 2 p.m. Unforgettable laughs, illusions and sleight of hand.

COUNTRYSIDE LIBRARY:

The Not Really Improv Group, Monday, July 1, 2:30 p.m. Improvisational acting for teens.

Discover Prehistoric Florida, Tuesday, July 2, 2 to 3 p.m., Staff from USF’s Florida Public Archaeology Network present artifacts and fascinating stories about pre-historic Floridians.

Kid’s Chess Club, Wednesday, July 3, 3:30 p.m. All skill levels are welcome. Bring a chess board.

NORTH GREENWOOD LIBRARY:

Balloon Bingo, Tuesday, July 2, 2 p.m., Classic game with a popping twist!
